Separation anxiety

While taking an obligatory evening troll (sorry, I meant stroll), in the north-west area of the imperial capital (Washington, D.C), I temporarily shared a sidewalk/talk with a distinguished-looking lady of a certain -- but of course undetermined -- age (she was "classy" enough not to dye her beautifully white hair) regarding her barking canine (sorry, can't tell what kind) bond to her leash.

I gently (as best as I could, male chauvinist that I am) asked her, as politely as I could --
Does your dog bite?

And the classy person of the female gender, yet another white-haired animal-dominating-owner (some would contend: slavery-owning in its politically correct 21st century form?), was kind enough not to dismiss me as yet another "macho-white-trash" freak.

Thus did, for the gender-wars record, the distinguished-looking beautifully-white-haired person of the female orientation respond to my question about incessant dog barking:
"Dogs, when they bark, suffer from'separation anxiety'"
