The "real news" on the internet is not just about "fake news" or "official news."
Nor is it just "objective news ["all the news that's print to print"] à la The New York Times or "investigative reporting"à la The Washington Post (still longing, in its journalistic objectivity/"patriotism" to be no. 1 in revelations about the imperial capital's goings-on).
Nor just from pity the poor provincial press outlets hoping to survive to share down-to-earth facts about their hometown/area.
So: Could it not be said that the "real news" on the internet are not about "fake news" or "official news"?
But why the disappearing "real news" on the USA media?
WEIRD NEWS
Masthead from The Huffington Post
Because the USA media have gone weird.
Yes, weird, I guess not totally fake, in all fairness to them.
If you see media articles on the web, many (but not all) of the "serious" ones from "respected" media outlets, on the same link after the article you'll get ... weird news.
Guess who'll scroll down to what? Most of us?
Weird news about, like, out-of-control sports stars, foreign-born drugged-out billionaires, sexually challenged people of all genders, the universe's strange composition, odd food choices, all kinds of weird insects we've never heard of ready to bite/infect/devour personkind ...
Including weird news about/from the commander in chief, one of the chief sources of weird news in the Homeland.
No wonder he's still "popular" -- and getting so much media attention.
In the opinion of many, including "weird" people, isn't he reflecting what the internet "weird" media is reflecting about us the US -- our "weird" country? (Granted, we are "weird" in many ways, especially in the eyes of the outside world).
So, can't it be said that in the Internet Homeland Today (IHT; will the honorable International Herald Tribune forgive me for this abbreviation?) that "weird news" are ... the truly fake [pardon a moron's oxymoron] "news"?
Stay weirdly uninformed, so you can keep the media moguls/advertisers happy.
